Magma Design System
Patterns
The first patterns are being written. They will appear here once they are complete enough to copy into a product. How to contribute A component solves one part of a screen; a product is made of screens. A pattern is a screen, or a task, that the products of Maggioli Group build again and again - a list to search, the detail of a record, a form to fill in - put together from Magma components, with the decisions the components cannot take on their own: what the page shows when nothing matches, what goes into the address, what a screen reader hears. Between the two sit the building blocks: the parts of a screen that come back in many patterns, such as the header of a page or a bar of filters.
What a pattern page holds
Every pattern will have the same parts: the pattern running, when to use it, its anatomy, the components it is made of, its behavior, its accessibility, its texts, the mistakes to avoid and, last, its code in plain HTML, React and Angular. The code will be complete: copy it into a project where Magma is installed, replace the demo data with your back end, and it runs.
The first ones
List with filters: records to search, narrow down, sort and page through.Record detail: one record, what can be done with it and its history.Form and validation: data to fill in, checked as people type and when they send it.Empty and error states: what a screen shows when there is nothing yet, or something went wrong. The Pattern and Antipattern pages of each component already show how to use that component on its own. This section will show how the components work together.
